Our
Heart

It's Sunday Morning at our home on El Cajon Drive. The savory smell of Menudo is lingering through out the entire neighborhood. Upon entering, roasters line every inch of our home steaming hundreds of dozens of Tamales readying for fulfillment. It is immediately clear that the amount of food being prepared would be enough to feed a small army.

Years before people would colloquially utter the term "Tamale Lady!", there was YOU!  Carmelita thee TAMALE lady. No social media, No advertising. Just the Notebook, customer loyalty, YOU and endless hours taking orders over the phone!!

Interestingly enough, that was only your day job despite its high demands and long hours. You were a worker, an unstoppable force. Toiling hard in fields, even as your due date approached in pregnancy , to taking on graveyard shifts at the Cannery. There was no job that seemed too hard or too big to take on, the hustle was unlike anything I have ever witnessed. The grind was immeasurable even then.

This is a beautiful glimpse into my life with my grandmother. My motivation and driving force. All of her is IN me, NEVER on me. The passion for feeding the masses is Lil Hunniz Grazing. Our family has filled the tummies of many here in our lovely city and we are proud to continue that legacy.

We have huge shoes to fill and I know Carmelita will be with us every step of the way!  From our line to your home.

Thank you so much for following and thank you for your continued support.  We can't wait to continue the Tradition!
